AnswerSift Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 27, 2026

1. Overview

AnswerSift is a browser extension and cloud research workspace for collecting matching AI answers, brand mentions, and source references. This policy describes how the current account-based service processes and protects your information.

2. Research Data We Process

When you authorize and enable a supported AI website, AnswerSift observes visible page content as you browse. It processes questions, answers, source titles and URLs, conversation and message identifiers, platform information, timestamps, and matching results for your watch groups. Matching research records, watch groups, keywords, brands, domains, and analysis settings are saved to your account in the cloud.

Captured questions and answers may contain personal or confidential information you entered into an AI service. Consider this before enabling collection or adding matching rules. AnswerSift does not automatically scan your entire chat history or collect unrelated browsing history.

The capture feature does not read AI-provider cookies, authorization headers, access tokens, hidden reasoning, or complete network response payloads. A locally derived hash of a visible account marker may be used to separate captures across accounts; the raw marker is not saved as a research record. This does not prevent personal information already present in a captured question or answer from being saved.

3. Account, Authentication, and Service Data

We process your email address, account identifier, display name, avatar, verification status, and account creation and update times. Email sign-in uses a verification code. If Google sign-in is available and you choose it, we receive the account information needed to authenticate you; the service is configured not to retain Google's access, refresh, or ID tokens after account processing.

Authentication records include sessions, expiry times, IP addresses, browser user-agent information, and rate-limit records. The workspace uses an authentication cookie, and a connected extension stores credentials needed to access your AnswerSift account. These are AnswerSift credentials, not credentials copied from AI websites.

We also maintain service records such as the first and most recent successful workspace write, subscription or manually granted access status, and administrative audit events. These support account administration, access control, security, and troubleshooting; they are not a record of all your browser activity.

4. Browser Permissions and Local Storage

Optional website access is requested when you authorize collection. The permission request may include the current supported website catalog, while collection is enabled only for the platforms you select. Granting access alone does not enable every platform. You can turn platforms off or revoke permissions through Chrome.

The scripting permission runs packaged capture code on authorized sites. The side panel permission provides the extension interface. Storage saves preferences, platform switches, account connection state, and local cache data. Access to tmete.net connects the extension to the AnswerSift service.

Browser storage and IndexedDB may contain cached research data, settings, migration data, and connection state. The cloud account is the main store for the current service. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the extension does not delete cloud records or cancel a subscription.

5. Purposes and Service Providers

We use this information to collect and organize your research, display answers and sources, calculate comparisons, sync your workspace, authenticate you, provide support, and administer access and billing. AnswerSift does not sell research records, use captured conversations for advertising, or use them to train general-purpose AI models.

Cloudflare provides hosting, database, and related delivery infrastructure. Email delivery services process the recipient address and sign-in message to deliver verification codes. Google processes sign-in requests if you use Google sign-in. These providers process data necessary to deliver their respective services. Infrastructure may process data outside your country; we do not promise storage in a particular country.

When payment features are available and you use them, Stripe processes payment details through its hosted checkout and customer portal. AnswerSift stores billing identifiers, subscription status and dates, and payment-event identifiers; it does not store your complete card number or security code. See Stripe's Privacy Policy, Cloudflare's Privacy Policy, and Google's Privacy Policy.

We may disclose relevant information when required by applicable law or to address fraud, abuse, or security incidents. Research content is not published as a public dataset. If you contact support, information you voluntarily send is used to handle your request.

6. Exports, Links, and the TMETE Website

CSV exports and JSON backups are files you explicitly create. They can contain private research and are not encrypted by AnswerSift. Review them before sharing and protect any copies you keep. Deleting a cloud record cannot remove a file you previously downloaded or shared.

Opening an original conversation, cited source, or other external link visits the corresponding website under that website's policies. The tmete.net marketing pages use Google Analytics and product-view counting to measure website use. These website measurements are separate from the research workspace and do not receive captured questions or answers through the extension's capture feature.

7. Retention, Deletion, and Your Choices

Research records remain in your cloud workspace until deleted through the available workspace controls or handled through a deletion request. You can pause collection, disable individual platforms, revoke website access, review saved records, and export your data. Signing out, clearing a local cache, or revoking collection permission does not delete previously saved cloud data.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated information, contact us using the email address at the end of this policy, sending your request from your account email. We may verify ownership before acting. Account deletion is not currently offered as an unrestricted self-service action; billing-linked accounts require review.

Billing and administrative audit records are not automatically erased when research data is deleted. Records needed to administer a subscription, resolve a payment dispute, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations may be retained for those purposes. There is currently no single automatic retention period for all account, billing, audit, and infrastructure records. Contact us for information about your specific data; we do not promise immediate deletion from every infrastructure copy.

8. Security and Policy Changes

The service uses HTTPS for transmission, authenticated account access, and account-scoped workspace queries. These measures reduce risk but do not guarantee absolute security. Cloud storage is not represented as end-to-end encrypted.

We will update this page when data practices change and revise the effective date above. This policy is published in English. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
